Another update

Things have been really busy around here.

We've been working with some great local artists like Throes+The Shine, Amazonas, ALTO!, Black Bombaim and O Bisonte.

O Bisonte decided to make a movie about the recording experience, so the gear nuts can get a great insight about how we do things here in the studio as soon as the album comes out.

In the meanwhile, the EP we did for Aspen during the summer is out, and it's being released by Lovers & Lollypops. You can order your copy on the label's website:

We have some new toys, like this STC 4021 "Ball & Biscuit" from the 1930's. It's really cool!

We also have 8 more channels of Lynx's Aurora AD/DA, for a total of 24 channels. It's now easier for us to do all the digital backups of our analog multitracks.

AMEK M1000

We have a new console in our control room!

We decided it was time to replace our beautiful sounding ABE/EMT MM40 with something that sounded as good (or better) and was more versatile.

This AMEK M1000 was the perfect choice for us!

It's a classic british split desk built in the late '70s, with Sowter transformers on line and mic inputs, and an amazing EQ section (the same that was later found on the AMEK 2500).

The M1000 was the last AMEK fully hand built, and according to some experts it has the best preamps AMEK ever made (we tried them and they are a serious contender against our Neves, APIs, Chandlers, etc.). This thing has character for days!

Things have been so busy in the studio in the last weeks that it's hard to keep this blog updated.

We've had lots of cool projects in our place since the last blog entry and it doesn't show signs of stopping.

We also added two new toys to our arsenal, an EMT 140 plate reverb and a 1/4'' Studer A80. Can anyone say PHAT?
